Nordson DAGE, a division of Nordson Corporation (NASDAQ: NDSN), announces that it was awarded the 2013 Editors Choice Award from Global SMT Packaging magazine for its 4000 Optima Bondtester with unique multi-function cartridge (MFC). The award was presented to the company during a Tuesday, November 12, 2013 ceremony that took place at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre in Munich, Germany during Productronica.
The 4000 Optima is a variant of the established 4000Plus Bondtester. It has been specifically optimized for the more traditional bondtesting applications. This has been achieved with a combination of proved technology combined with unique, unrivalled design features such as the MFC (Multi Function Cartridge) which has a park position for load tool and transducer protection and applications window so that the operator knows instantly which transducer is engaged. Low mass grab handles enable super quick change over between the MFC and singulated load cartridges and software safety features protect the operator during application changes.
Configurable load cartridge storage gives operators access to optional functionality and keypads while X, Y and vector nudge buttons provide unparalleled control over XY stage for precise and easy alignment of small geometry product under the test head. The 4000 Optima also features advanced optics with dual arm mounting with build in vibration damping for use in challenging production environments. A trinocular camera system is available for still photographs or video clips and a built in image capture camera provides a post bondtest inspection capability.
