Frost Sullivan has launched the inaugural Frost Sullivan Public Sector Case Challenge 2013. The objective for the inaugural challenge will be for undergraduate students to develop and present ideas on how a government can foster innovation to promote economic growth and development.Shivaji Das, Vice President, Public Sector, Asia Pacific said, This is an unique case challenge competition for undergraduate students in Singapore which focuses on issues concerned with the government and public sector. This years competition topic, How a government can foster innovation to promote economic growth and development is one of the most pressing issues for economies worldwide. Universities are underutilized resource for talent. We aim to bridge the gap and highlight to young talents the rewards associated with public service.
The case challenge is open to all undergraduates in Singapore. The response from the students is positive and 120 teams have entered the competition. Students from participating universities included Singapore Management University (SMU), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), National University of Singapore (NUS) and Singapore Institute of Management (SIM). Participants will be required to submit their proposed solutions to the case to be provided by Frost Sullivan.
The first phase of the competition will involve selecting five of the most innovative solutions submitted by the competing teams. The second phase will culminate in an event where selected teams will present their solutions to a judging panel comprising of senior public sector administrators and industry thought leaders.
Participants shortlisted in phase one of the competition will get a chance to be mentored by some of the top consultants in the industry and the top two teams from the grand finale will win attractive cash prizes and will also be eligible for potential internship opportunities with Frost Sullivan one of fastest growing consulting companies in the world.
On 25th February, five shortlisted teams will be announced and Frost Sullivan mentors will be assigned to assist them in developing the solution. Final solutions will be presented at an evening event on 14 March in Singapore.
