CH2M HILL a global full-service consulting, design, construction, and operations firm, delivered a presentation at the International Symposium on Nanomaterials and Nanodevices (CHINano 2012) in Suzhou, China. The event held September 13-15 at the Dushu Lake Hotel was organized by the Chinese Materials Research Society, National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, Suzhou Institute of Nano-Tech and Nano-Bionics, Soochow University and Suzhou Industrial Park.
The CH2M HILL presentation at CHINano 2012 titled Integrating Next-Generation Technology Into Todays Nano/MEMS Research Facilities included case history data from the companys many international nanotechnology research projects. These include CH2M HILLs current project to design a multi-stack development laboratory for Chinas largest nano/MEMS manufacturing hub.
The CH2M HILL presenters were industrial engineering expert Monty Stranski and advanced technology architect Hui May Yang. Together they represent more than 60 years of combined research facility design experience.
The CH2M HILL presentation focused on helping nanotechnology facility developers avoid impractical facility innovations and achieve greater efficiencies with research facility budgets. They explained that research facility developers are particularly interested in maximizing their economic efficiencies at a time when capital is scarce for research facility development.
The presentation included a special section devoted to integration of new energy efficiency strategies in nanotechnology/MEMS research environments.
CH2M HILL is a leading designer of nanotechnology research and manufacturing facilities globally. These include the Nanopolis research complex in Suzhou, China; the National Graphene Institute at The University of Manchester in the UK; the Australian Institute of Nanoscience for the University of Sydney; the award-winning Mountbatten Nanotechnology Electronics Research Complex at the University of Southampton in the UK; Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in Korea; The Egypt Nanotechnology Center at the University of Cairo; the Danish Technical University in Denmark; Clemson University Advanced Materials Research Laboratory in South Carolina; Carnegie Mellon University in Pennsylvania; and the ONAMI Microproducts Breakthrough Institute in Oregon.
Monty Stranski has more than 25 years of experience in the design of research and manufacturing facilities involving nanotechnology/MEMS technologies, as well as integrated circuit processes and tools, optoelectronics and photovoltaics manufacturing and electronics manufacturing.
Hui May Yang is a US-Registered Architect with 28 years of experience in architectural design, specializing in high-tech projects such as semiconductor, flat panel and nanotechnology research and manufacturing. Her expertise includes highly-complex technical facilities requiring stringent design criteria for vibration, EMI and particulate control.
