STI Electronics, Inc., a full service organization providing training services, analytical and failure analysis, prototyping, and small- to medium-volume PCB assembly, announces that Mark McMeen, VP of Manufacturing and Engineering Services, will present during the High-Reliability Cleaning and Conformal Coating Conference, Nov. 18-20, 2014 at the Chicago Marriott Schaumburg in Illinois. Organized by IPC and SMTA, the High-Reliability Cleaning and Conformal Coating Conference will cover technological developments in all areas of cleaning and coating applied to electronics assemblies.
McMeens keynote will address an alternative test method for real-time surface insulation resistance (SIR) testing for printed circuit board assemblies and conformal coated assemblies. The idea is to get real-time SIR data as the assemblies goes through different assembly processes and process material introductions, and their interrelationships as the printed circuit board is being manufactured. The ability to discern the cleanliness level under components as they go through and along the manufacturing process is essential to understanding where and what processes and materials contribute to the ionic contamination under component devices that may contribute to adverse / unwanted ionic levels.
McMeen has more than 23 years experience in the manufacturing and engineering of printed circuit boards, both flexible and rigid, as well as in the manufacture of electronic assemblies. As STIs Vice President of Manufacturing and Engineering Services, he oversees the day-to-day operations of the Manufacturing and Engineering Services division of STI.
