The automotive supplier Continental met with Ersa GmbH for a technology day in Wertheim/Germany on 19 October 2011. The international delegation consisting of 30 technologists and production managers visited Europes largest manufacturer of soldering systems to update themselves and receive information on the latest developments and standards in soldering technology and PCB production. The attractive agenda comprised technological and product presentations introducing the entire Ersa product range covering screen printers, reflow soldering systems and different selective and wave soldering systems up to rework and inspection systems as well as hand soldering tools. Then it was time to roll up the sleeves and take matters in hand in the Ersa Demo and Application Center: following the theoretical part the participants worked with the Ersa printers, soldering-, rework- and inspection systems themselves. A further highlight was the presentation of the newly developed ECOSELECT 1 selective soldering system; it is the perfect start-up solution for efficient and reproducible soldering processes in small-scale and customized production. The brandnew ECOSELECT 1 will be officially introduced to the public at the Productronica show in Munich - the worlds leading trade fair for electronics production - which will open its doors in a few weeks time. During the tour round the company the visitors were shown the production site with pre-assembly, line assembly, clocked box assembly, test stand and logistics center, thus they could see where their next Ersa machine will be manufactured. The technology day ended on an upbeat note and the participants agreed to turn this information exchange to a regular event in the futures.
