BANNOCKBURN, Ill., USA, December 7, 2010 ― Following European Parliament agreement of the final text of the new RoHS Directive on November 24, ENVIRON and IPC― Association Connecting Electronics Industries present an exclusive webinar to provide essential information on the new compliance requirements for manufacturers, importers and distributors.

The RoHS Directive Recast Webinar will be held Thursday, December 16, 10:00 am to 11:00 am U.S. Central time (4:00 pm to 5:00 pm Central European time). The new RoHS Directive will become EU law as soon as translations into the 22 official EU languages are completed in Q2 2011.

All EU Member States RoHS Regulations will then be amended and sales of new electrical and electronic equipment will be required to comply within 18 months. If the new RoHS Directive becomes EU law in May 2011, then sales of new electrical and electronic equipment in EU Member States must comply with the new requirements beginning November 20, 2012.

The RoHS Directive Recast Webinar will explain the impact of the new requirements including:Timelines for implementation  Substances for priority assessment Open scope New exemptions policy New compliance responsibilities formanufacturers, importers and distributors Product CE marking requirements
