During this years Productronica trade show (November 15-18, Munich International Trade Fair Centre), ASM Assembly Systems GmbH Co. KG (formerly Siemens Electronics Assembly Systems) will once again extend an invitation to visit its large SIPLACE in-house event at its Munich headquarters. Away from the Productronicas hustle and bustle, visitors can learn about SIPLACEs innovations and the latest trends in electronics manufacturing by attending workshops, taking tours and watching live demonstrations.
The event also provides an excellent opportunity for exchanging best practices with fellow producers. SIPLACE will even set up lines to demonstrate special solutions for the automobile industry, for flexible high-volume production environments and for highly cost-sensitive producers. With its SIPLACE CA, the company will present process and cost advantages by placing dies and flip-chips directly from the wafer. Current and potential customers will also have access to SIPLACE development engineers in workshops on topics like LED or nano placement. Focus on issues and trends Visitors of the SIPLACE in-house event will be able to experience the full spectrum of SIPLACEs innovations for this years Productronica on various SMT lines. They range from high-mix high-volume production to lines with special solutions for automotive customers to cost-sensitive solutions for small Asian manufacturers. The intelligent integration of SIPLACE hardware and software modules ensures efficient solutions across the entire process cycle from new product introductions (NPIs) to setup changeovers to regular production operations. SIPLACEs Smart Pin Support is just one example of these innovations.
It allows the user to define pin positions not only in the placement program, but even position the pins automatically with a special unit on the first placement head to provide support for extra-heavy and sensitive PCBs. More process reliability is the goal of innovations like the SIPLACE Nozzle ID Scanning. By scanning nozzle IDs, the system makes sure that the placement machine uses the right nozzle for each component without having to position them in a particular order in the nozzle magazine.Workshops on LEDs, nano-components, NPI processes, benchmarking and a whole lot more Workshops will cover requirements and solutions for special processes. In the LED Placement Workshop, for example, the SIPLACE team will provide detailed explanations of bowl feeders and special nozzles as well as Productronica innovations like SIPLACE LED Pairing, a module for automatic brightness class management. Other workshops cover topics such as the selective placement and soldering of highly sensitive nano-components, new product introductions with OSCs and benchmarking, i.e. comparing ones own electronics production with others on the basis of key performance indicators.Visitors can build their own schedule of workshops, demonstrations and factory tours.
